Of the Prayer

We have all at one time or another heard this sentence: ”Life is a school.” Doubtless true but the problem is that we sometimes tend to forget what the purpose of our life is. At times like that it is a comfort to keep in mind that this earthly life of ours is also a preparation for that which inevitably waits us after death. With our behaviour and treatment of others we are not only doing others good or bad. We are also creating a future for ourselves in the next life. All prophets of all religions have in fact brought us the same fundamental truth: ”Nurture the charity in you and all will be well.” Therefore it´s a necessity to make a habit of showing kindness to all the people we interact with.
The most beautiful act of charity we can demonstrate is to pray in sincerity for those who are in trouble. We most never forget that the entire Mankind is a whole, a unit. All religious people have long since realized that a prayer aimed at others, has great and sometimes even divine power in it. The best spiritual doctors of the world have first and foremost achieved their sometimes incredible results, through the act of praying. The more people praying for the same thing, the stronger and effective the prayer seems to become. This is something that Christian congregations have felt all over the world. It has for example become a common gesture with some American congregations to practise communal praying for someone either outside or inside of the parish who might be seriously ill or in need of support.
Parents don´t need to be told to nurse their child when it becomes ill or has an accident. Parents do that without a moment’s hesitation, for they love their child. We should in the exact same manner try to make a habit out of demonstrating love towards others who might need it, as we would with our own children. Use the power of love through intense praying for those who are in need. Experience tells us that our prayers will be heard. Remember that all the children of the world are our children and all adults are our brothers and sisters. Keep that in your minds, always.
